Brief biography
I was born in Sheffield in 1976. From a young age I was always involved in sport. I enjoyed boxing, Football and karate. I competed successfully at all of the above, even having trials with several professional clubs. I was torn between fight training and football, and later I discovered Thai boxing and loved it. I still keep involved with the sport now to stay fit. I have even started dabbling in Brazilian ju jitsu with a friend who teaches it. While fight training in 2003 I started weight training, and the gym owner convinced me to compete. I did and in 2004 I won the Heavyweight & Overall Titles at the NABBA North East Britain.
The following year I won the NABBA UK Title and was now hooked and decided to have a go at the big boys in the UKFBB. I prepared for the North East show which is organized by Flex Magazine. I won and went on to Mr Britain and placed 5th.
In 2007 I returned to defend my North East title successfully and again placed 5th at the Britain. I am six ft 2 my last contest weight was about 19 stone, currently I weigh twenty two stone. My best lifts are bench press 470lbs, Squat 630lbs, Dead lift 600lbs. My favourite body part to train are legs and shoulders. I am happily married to Cheryl who is my rock and number one fan. I have been blessed with two beautiful children. Claudia who is nine, loves athletics and excels at sprinting. Samuel who is only four and already shows interest in body building and martial arts. I derive great joy and strength from my wife and children. They mean the world to me. As for my genetics, I thank my parents everyday! My father was an exceptional boxer and my mother tall and slim, both were strong and athletic what more could I have asked for.
