Losing fat does not have to be a mental and physical battle. At Sci-MX we are not fans of ‘diets' in the traditional sense of the word as the connotation to the word ‘diet’ is often to suddenly stop eating anything enjoyable and then starve yourself - eating only strange combinations of tasteless foods until you can’t bear it anymore. This is not necessary and will not work long term. Let’s rather think in terms of a fat loss plan, which should incorporate exercise and healthy eating, along with the correct nutritional products. None of these should be introduced to your life too dramatically, but rather in realistic phases, and they should both be enjoyed. Pages 32 and 33 contain guidance on training and eating, and the following tips could help you to make some realistic and easily achievable changes to your lifestyle to get the trim and lean physique you want:
– It’s not only eating fat that makes you fat. It’s also too many calories, and too much sugar, so become conscious of calorie counting and look out for hidden sugars. There are many excellent articles and guides on the internet to help you - just type ‘calorie counting’ into your browser. It doesn’t help saying no to a bag of crisps because it has lots of fat in it, and then tucking into a packet of ‘only 1% fat’ biscuits that are 80% sugar!
– Muscle is the furnace that burns the fat! If you only do cardio, you will eventually break down muscle tissue and find it harder to lose fat because muscle burns fat, so you’re likely to take on the proverbial pear-shaped look. Therefore you should do a combination of cardio and resistance/weight training to achieve a muscular, attractive physique and ensure that your diet includes enough protein to support your muscle.
– Not all fat is bad fat: You’ve probably heard about ‘essential fats’ by now (EFA's). These are fats that your body needs for various functions and to help break down and metabolise bad fat. The modern western diet does not contain sufficient essential fats because food production and agricultural methods have changed. Sci-MX’s CLA Ultralean 1000™ and Tri-Omega EFA™ are specifically formulated to help prevent the negative effects of EFA deficiency.
– Take it easy: Every aspect of starting a fat loss programme should be done gradually. If you suddenly halve your calorie intake in one day and exercise like a mad person at the same time, you will completely lose motivation within a few weeks. The shock is just too much for your body and it will do everything it can to slow you down and make you eat more. Phase your lifestyle change in gradually and build up your training intensity over time.
– Get yourself a little kick start: Pyro-MX Leanburn™ (opposite page) contains ingredients that have proven in clinical trials to help mobilise fat when combined with exercise and a calorie controlled eating plan. It also helps to curb appetite and increase your focus and energy, so it could help you to lose fat a whole lot quicker!
– Reward yourself: People who experience the best results are those who go big for six days and then relax on the seventh, rather than attempting to do everything 100% perfectly all the time, and eventually giving up completely. Give yourself one day out of seven to eat pretty much what you want, and rest completely. Don’t even think about training or diet, and enjoy yourself. As time goes by, you will notice that on your ‘off’ day you will crave less bad food, and be satisfied with small rewards. Let this process happen by itself.
