This year you’ve decided you want to do something crazy.

2017 is the year that doesn’t just involve setting personal bests (as great as they may be), it’s about pushing your limits, physically & mentally.

We’ve taken the liberty of looking across the globe at what activities you can add to your 2017 bucket list compiling our favourite top 5 extreme fitness challenges below.

Base jumping

Probably the most dangerous extreme sport in the world! If you haven’t heard of it before, BASE is an acronym which stands for Building, Antenna, Span (bridges) and Earth (cliffs) – These are the 4 platforms that base jumpers use to jump from with a parachute on their backs, definitely a step up from sky diving! It is both technically and physically demanding which means hours of training goes into making sure you can get yourself out of trouble when needs be. Why not check out in the video below, but be warned, this is not for the faint-hearted!base-jumping

Rock climbing

Rock climbing a very demanding activity, both physically and mentally, it’ll be sure to test your strength, endurance, agility and balance. Head over to an indoor rock climbing centre to practice your tekkers before venturing out to more natural surroundings. Top tip – don’t forget to stretch and warm up beforehand to loosen off your limbs for those big reaches.

The extreme sport, known as volcano boarding, sees thousands of thrill seekers race down the Cerro Negro volcano in Nicaragua, Central America each year. Wearing little more than a jumpsuit and goggles for protection, daredevils can careen down the 726m high ashy slope in less than 20 seconds at speeds of up to 60mph. SEE CATERS COPY

Cliff Jumping

In the UK we call it coasteering and are slightly more sensible when it comes to safety equipment, so grab a wet-suit, buoyancy aid and helmet and make your way to the shore! Coasteering can be done in major locations across UK and is a great activity for the adrenaline junkies amongst us! Hopping across rocks, scrambling around caves and jumping off cliffs – if that’s your thing we 100% recommend it. To show off the extreme version we went to America to bring you ‘Adrenaline Addiction’ top 5 jumps:
